Congratulations!! You took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. Then you scheduled a consult and tour at our birth center. And while you visited us, we put together an estimate for your insurance coverage. Most people really don't understand how their insurance plans actually work. I mean, they understand that they have insurance but they often don't understand why they have to pay anything out of pocket or a how we come up with the estimate, so we thought we would help break this down for you.  But first: there are different ways people obtain insurance plans. Some employers include insurance plans are a benefit to working with their company. Employers will contract with different insurance companies and each employer might offer different plans to different employees, so just because you have Cigna, as an example, it doesn't mean all Cigna plans are the same. Calender Events:

Sunday 8/23/09: We will be at the Florida Mall Hotel Conference Center for the Smart Baby Expo. Try to get out there and see us!

Saturday 09/26/09 from 12-5 we will be participating in the Birth, Babies and Beyond Baby Festival at the First Presbyterian Church in Maitland on 17-92!

Saturday 10/3/09 will be our very own 3rd annual Baby Reunion at the Central Florida Zoo...many events planned for that day including: a bounce house for the bigger babies, volley ball, water balloons, pinatas, a car show for the daddies and horseshoes, BBQ'ing and a pot luck...the Florida Friends of Midwives will have a table signing up people to help protect midwifery in Florida! What else? Oh, the Zoo now has a splash pad and zip lines!! Great place to meet up with old friends and make some new ones!! Our custom cake will be done by Anna Cakes in Orlando. Anna has been on TV many times with her custom award winning cakes!

More to come, but know we love you and can't wait to see each of you out there and we appreciate all you all do to support midwifery and your right to have your babies how you want to!!

From the time we checked into H2H, it was pure agony. I wanted to give up so many times, in fact I voiced that quite a few times. However, as soon as Blaine handed me our Thomas Edward, I didn’t remember the pain. All I cared about was my sweet Thomas was finally here & he was absolutely perfect.
