I mean, they understand that they have insurance but they often don't understand why they have to pay anything out of pocket or a how we come up with the estimate, so we thought we would help break this down for you.  But first: there are different ways people obtain insurance plans. Some employers include insurance plans are a benefit to working with their company. Employers will contract with different insurance companies and each employer might offer different plans to different employees, so just because you have Cigna, as an example, it doesn't mean all Cigna plans are the same. Now on Facebook/volunteering

Hello ladies, our blog is now linked with facebook and we are working on our ranking score so other people can find us and follow the work at H2H as well. Thanks for all of yor support my dear friends! 

We are occassionally asked about volunteering at the birth center. Yes, it is needed. But it often isn't int he area that many are really thinking. In order to keep us running smoothly and giving our patients the extra touches that we love to do we do need help. There are often clerical things going on in the background that hold us up and that is really the stuff that we need help with: copying, making postpartum packages, ironing on the decals for the newborn tee shirts, CLEANING!!  We love the help we get but we do hate to ask for it (just like any other woman, we like to feel like we can maintain on our own...the difference is we still have to go home and clean our own homes as well).

There are other things that need work... record keeping for the breastfeeding group. I want to start a data base of what topics are being discussed (minutes, so to say) and how long people are breastfeeding (so follow up with patients at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months) so that we can show that with the proper kind of support, ladies will nurse their babies longer. 

I also want a data base for the childbirth classes (length of labor, transfer rates, ect.) to show the difference in how these classes impact natural birth and to show their value. 

Anyone interested in helping and joining our team of volunteers? Right now, Heather kind of heads up the breastfeeding group but needs help, and Dawn and her mother make us incredible knitted baby hats (Thank you sooo much!!)

From the time we checked into H2H, it was pure agony. I wanted to give up so many times, in fact I voiced that quite a few times. However, as soon as Blaine handed me our Thomas Edward, I didn’t remember the pain. All I cared about was my sweet Thomas was finally here & he was absolutely perfect.
