Insurance

Congratulations!! You took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. Then you scheduled a consult and tour at our birth center. And while you visited us, we put together an estimate for your insurance coverage. Most people really don't understand how their insurance plans actually work. I mean, they understand that they have insurance but they often don't understand why they have to pay anything out of pocket or a how we come up with the estimate, so we thought we would help break this down for you.  But first: there are different ways people obtain insurance plans. Some employers include insurance plans are a benefit to working with their company. Employers will contract with different insurance companies and each employer might offer different plans to different employees, so just because you have Cigna, as an example, it doesn't mean all Cigna plans are the same. Also, some people purchase their own insurance plans directly from insurance companies or from the Marketpla

Introducing the new midwife!

Hello all!

Time to get active with this blog thing, so I cam going to try to get all of you to sign up for it so you get my instant messages! For those of you out there listening, we have a new midwife here at H2H...please join us in welcoming Kaleen Richards, CNM.  Check out the website staff page and read her bio to learn more about Kaleen. She is a sweetheart (otherwise we would not have brought her in on our team) and you guys are all going to love her as much as we do. Along with being a midwife, she is also an ARNP, which means she can actually see you for sick visits as well as routine prenatal care (meaning she can also prescribe medications if you are sick, so no more doctor visits). She had homebirths with her last 2 sons, and has been looking for a way to give more natural birth care than she was able to in a hospital setting. So come out and meet the new kid on the block! And don't worry, I am still here plugging away, I am just needing some extra hands!! It is really great to have someone else here who shares my passion for midwifery.

HI!! I was doing a Google search on henna belly tattoos for my upcoming Blessingway and found your site--and I got that funny "chilled" feeling, like when the Holy Spirit is working, do you know the one?? :) I said, "Yup, this is what I want to do."
I love your center, love the concept, love the various services you offer--and I am blessed just in knowing there are already people out there doing what you're doing, and for the Lord, too!! Awesome.
I am 39 weeks pregnant, due May 6 with our second son. What ARE your thoughts on due dates--I'd love to know!! :) With our first son, we saw a midwife team for my prenatal care and planned a home birth. Everything went perfectly. Then after 18 hours of labor at home, once I was fully dilated and effaced and pushing, I was transferred to the hospital when he passed meconium and his heart rate was increasing. All of my dreams for the birth were dashed--except that I did, indeed, do it without drugs! We are going to be in the hospital this time--I tore so bad last time, I would have had to have been transferred, anyway. We learned a few things...and I am hoping and praying this one goes much more smoothly, even in the hospital. BUT, my dream is still a home birth...maybe the next one! Anyway, if you want to tell me your take on due dates, feel free to comment on my pregnancy blog
www.proudgritsispreggers.blogspot.com or e-mail me tabandrew@hotmail.com
I've bookmarked your site to find out your latest--blessings to you and the center!!
