Insurance

Congratulations!! You took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. Then you scheduled a consult and tour at our birth center. And while you visited us, we put together an estimate for your insurance coverage. Most people really don't understand how their insurance plans actually work. I mean, they understand that they have insurance but they often don't understand why they have to pay anything out of pocket or a how we come up with the estimate, so we thought we would help break this down for you.  But first: there are different ways people obtain insurance plans. Some employers include insurance plans are a benefit to working with their company. Employers will contract with different insurance companies and each employer might offer different plans to different employees, so just because you have Cigna, as an example, it doesn't mean all Cigna plans are the same. Also, some people purchase their own insurance plans directly from insurance companies or from the Marketpla

Hello All!

Just an update on the new building: we have block! I will be updating with each new stage now and will try to figure out how to get these pictures up.

The new birth center will have 3 birth rooms, 2 exam rooms, a large waiting room and kitchen area, and office areas for me and Kaleen, Karin & Becca! Yeah, we will have some separate space!! Our areas are actually joined be windows so we can all talk though...we are a close knit group!

The master bedroom features french doors that lead out to a private lanai. We are planning to plant beautiful night blooming fragrant flowers out here such as Confederate Jasmine and Moonflower and maybe some honeysuckle. There will be an awning out there with comfy patio furniture so you can sit outside or wander out and around in labor. The tub in the private bathroom is the big corner type that actually has a reclining area and a seat in it. This bedroom will also have a canopy bed in it with bedding reminiscent of a bed and breakfast in South Carolina. Pure richness!

The next bedroom will have our oak bed from the center now in the downstairs room. this bed is sentimental to me as it was my personal bed. This room will feature a beautiful oak fireplace with carved wood and a marble top. The tub in this room is actually in the bedroom so you don't feel shut into another room...perfect for staying in the tub for extended periods of time. the bathroom here is connected to the next smaller bedroom featuring our prize day bed for those of you familiar with our upsatirs exam room presently. This day bed is a masterpiece and perfect for birth. This room also sports a tub right in the bedroom...a giant jacuzzi soaking tub much like the tub in the downstairs bathroom in the birth center presently. The colors in these rooms will make you feel at ease and peace throughout your stay with us at Heart 2 Heart Birth Center...much like a Bed and Breakfast...just add the Baby!!!

The other exciting news about our new center will be the added modalities: In our new Wellness Center attached to the birth center will be a fitness room for prenatal yoga, prenatal pilates, Mommie and Me fitness, and many other classes! Joining us will be Cynthia Gabaldon, Chiropractor who specializes in prenatal, labor, and newborn adjusting; Avery Cohen, a Chiropractic Intern and Licensed Massage Therapist who specializes in Pregnancy Massage, his wife Jen Cohen, a fitness instructor, Sarah Herzog,  also specializes in fitness and Yoga, Crystal Maples an Acupunture Doctor and Hypnobirth Instructor, and we are keeping our eye open for an IBCLC who might be interested in providing services through the Center to serve our women for their lactation needs.

We should be moving in October, and hopefully ready to do births in our new building by the end of November. We will keep you all posted! Let us know your thoughts and ideas.
